Sweet Holy Child

Eversince my youngest came out, we use to hum the Sweet Holy Child song as we rock him in his cradle. It's always been that which makes him sleep soundly. It has become one of my favorite Christian songs too.

SWEET HOLY CHILD

Jesus teach me how to pray
Differ not my thoughts to stray
Send destruction far away
Sweet holy child

Let me not be rude or wild
Make me humble, meek and mild
Pure as angels undefined
Sweet holy child

When I work or when I play
No thou with me through the day
Teach me what to do and say
Sweet holy child

Make me worthy mothers blest
Safe beneath thy care to rest
As a bird within its nest
Sweet holy child
