A Sense of Purpose

A sense of purpose is the best driving force to live.
When you have a reason to live,
you will never have a reason to quit.

========

I remember the times I went through hell and back, fighting with my inner self just to survive. Every time I thought of giving up, I held on - for my children. They are my purpose and one of the biggest reasons I keep going.

Just recently, something I read made me cry my heart out. It was a line from a food magazine that said, "Pursue your passion with all your heart." Those words struck a chord deep within me, reminding me of the things I’ve always wanted to do - like dancing and cooking.

And today, I took a step forward. I found my way back into the kitchen! I made Vanilla Macaroons and a no-bake Oreo Cheesecake. Now, I’m getting ready to whip up Crispy Belly and Meatballs for my eldest’s birthday tomorrow. I’ll be sharing these recipes soon on my food blog.

And yes, I’ll be dancing again - very soon!

Good Words

A long time ago, during a phase when my once-exciting life led me to moments of contemplation and introspection, a friend shared words that profoundly changed my perspective: "So what? It doesn't make you a lesser you." These simple yet powerful words reshaped the way I view life and its challenges, reminding me that no matter what we go through, our worth remains intact.

Quote from a Homily

I once attended a mass where the priest's words was imprinted in my memory. Don't ask me what was the homily was all about (lol!), all I can share is his words that is clear as a day, and maybe from this, we can learn.

Learn to know what to stop.
Learn to know what to start.
Learn to know what to continue and sustain.

This made me stop my tracks and reflect. What should essentially be discontinued? What must be started? Which will I continue and sustain? Up to now, I still ponder on this. What about you?

TODAY

Before you think of saying any unkind word,
think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the food you eat,
think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about life,
think of someone who went too early to heaven.

And when you are tired and complaining about your job,
think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wished they had your job.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down,
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

Life is a gift. Live it well…
