Moving Forward the Path

I wasn’t much of a goal-getter when I was younger. In fact, I didn’t know what I wanted as I was growing up, and for a long time, it remained unclear what I truly wanted out of life. Slowly, though, I began to move toward the goals I now have in mind.

It’s been a slow progress, with many obstacles along the way. But when you keep your eyes on the goal, and continue thinking and dreaming about it, somehow, you’ll find yourself moving toward it. Call it the power of thought - or actions driven by those thoughts.

Now, my heart is set on one goal, one that will benefit all of us. With my fingers crossed, I still don’t know exactly how I’ll get there. But I know that with time, effort, energy, and hard work, I can make it happen. It won’t take long, and while it’s not a flawless or foolproof plan, all I know is that I want to reach that goal, and I’m confident I will, eventually.

First Aid Training

This was during our First Aid Training last April 2007 (I was the official photographer since I cannot participate in the process - all theory for me - since I was pregnant at this time) as part of the requirement for us rescuer wannabes...

Poker Face Gleefully

I think this is the most amazing version of Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face'.  Just love the latest episode (which I luckily saw in Yahoo TV).  So, take time to listen - gleek!

A Day of Surprises and Small Wins

I just finished washing the dishes and tidying up the kitchen. I’m truly exhausted, but I find myself looking forward to writing about how my day went.

This morning wasn’t like my usual routine. For one, I finally managed to get up and clean our SUV. It’s never easy cleaning a car, but I really enjoyed seeing how clean and shiny it looked afterward. The bonus was basking in the early sunshine and sweating from the effort. I actually love to sweat - not because it makes me feel clean, but because I feel detoxified (sweating is one of the liver’s ways of detoxifying, after all). I need that to improve my overall health.

Come to think of it, I don’t complain about cleaning as much these days. It’s become a habit, and I often find myself organizing one thing after another. Of course, there’s always the inevitable PC interruption (which, I think, is necessary to keep a bit of fun in my never-ending household chores).

Then the ‘big box’ was picked up by Forex. This box contains various items for our family back home - some new, others old, and, of course, the usual body care products and canned goods. After that, it was back to cleaning.

Hubby came home and told me we needed to head to DPS for my written driving test. Uh-oh. I wasn’t ready! But seeing how much effort my husband put in just to accommodate me, I couldn’t say no. So, I faced the inevitable. In my haste, though, I forgot to bring my receipt, which really irked hubby. I apologized and told him I would take the test if they’d let me, even without the receipt. And they did!

Though I had to wait a few minutes before they decided to accommodate me, I finally took the written/computerized test. I didn’t exactly ace it (I skipped two questions and got 21 correct), but I PASSED!

That was definitely the big payoff of the day.

Afterward, we went to the mall, not for shopping, really, but because hubby had a meeting. He dropped us off at a nearby mall, where my kids happily ran and climbed around the indoor playground. As a treat, I bought some Bath & Body Works products and a few things for the house.

Well, that’s a wrap for today!

Spoken Dreams

I know, I can be that ambitious. But when I started voicing my dreams out loud, I didn’t get the enthusiasm from my husband that I was hoping for.

I know these are big dreams, dreams that will take time and hard work but I’m willing to put in the effort. I guess I just need to stop talking about them and start working on them. I want him to hear about my dreams, not dismiss them. After all, dreams are priceless and free - so why not aim high?

Things in the Middle

We were in the middle of a deal of buying our very own house, but some advice from someone made us think twice.  Then I realized, we're not really ready with the responsibility of a new home.  If we are, these small advices won't matter if we really are that decided.

I've been asking God for some guidance, and the more we insist on buying a new home, there were a lot of things that keeps getting in the way.

Like, I still don't have a license. My husband is planning to accept the job which will be based in California.  Who will drive for us?

I want to pursue my nursing studies.  I'm in the process of doing so but relocating would change all that.  I would want to stay here in Texas.  I want my kids to have long-time friends, be in the same school some of their school years, but I want it to be in good school districts.

I don't want them to go back in our country to accommodate my studies.  I feel like I can somehow juggle studies and kids, others have done it, why can't I?  Truth is, I don't want them to feel that I somehow neglected them by sending them home.  It's a sacrifice I don't want to afford.

Then the owner of the house we're occupying have other agenda for the coming months, so we really have to move out.

The only person earning for us is my husband, and if we acquire a new house, process some papers for my mom and our eldest, get me back to school, send allowance for his mom back home and live in two different states (one with a higher cost of living) which means paying for two different rents and bills, would be too much for my husband.  That kind of burden I don't want him to do alone.  So, I have to compromise.

Seeing that, and knowing that kids are very flexible, I think I would do the most reasonable thing we can do in times like this...help my hubby lighten his load by coming with him.  And just try to do something in between for the meantime.

Find the Positive

LOVE

© Agau | Dreamstime.com

Try to find something positive about your spouse instead of dwelling on his bad traits. The first thing people say when they lose a loved one is: I wish I could have told him I loved him one last time. So make a habit to say I love you sincerely everyday.

Nice

Truth is, it's really nice to have a place of my own, where I can express myself without anybody bothering me.  And this is it.

I know it's not as private as I wanted to be, but this little niche I carved myself is just nice, there's nothing here that's not public, but I felt it's kind of private since I've been able to gloat, cry and weed some miseries within.  Nobody wants to bother reading this blog anyway, and I like it just like that.

Done

I'm done going through memes.  First is I can't really cope up with the speed, so I do it in my own pace and time.  I still do all the kind of themes like sky watching and stuff, but I post it now for my benefit, not for traffic anymore.  Before, I used to enter those memes to entice more visitors in this blog, but as time goes by, I really don't care anymore.  And I like it that way.

In Loving

LOVING © Adam1975 | Dreamstime.com

Giving someone all your love
is never an assurance that they’ll love you back.

Don’t expect love in return.
Just wait for it to grow in their hearts
but if it doesn’t,
be content it grew in yours.
