Good, Good Day

Yes.  This is a good day for me.

Several things make this a better day - 1) I;m feeling a little better (I've been feeling malaise for the past few days hence no blogging); 2) my youngest is ok (no more colds and coughs); 3) I ate a very yummy breakfast in a pinoy resto (at Tony's Grill where I ate tuyo, sinangag at itlog or tuyosilog, nothing can beat the good old trio); 4) I was able to organize the other messy room - the other room which was more messy than our bedroom) and 5) me and the kids got fingerscanned.

Of all the things we did today, the fifth was something to look forward to.  You see, doing the fingerscanning means we are just a few months away from getting the coveted greencard.  It also means there's a chance for us to go back home once we got our card (yipeee!!!! fingers crossed).  And the fact that having the card means we are now permanent residents of the US of A.  We can now travel from here to there, we just have to use our card every now and then.  It means, we don't have to go through the process of going to the embassy for entry and exit from the land of milk and honey (and so they say).  No more renewal of visa and we will have the chance to apply for citizenship in a couple of years.

But, I'm still crossing my fingers since we are still not totally there.  We still have to wait and hope.  But yes, it's one good thing I'm looking forward.

Yes, yes, it also means I would be able to work and drive.  Still, hopefully.
