That's me. Sore and just wants to get back to bed and rest and sleep all day.
I have a patch of blotchy skin surrounding my clogged and never ending runny nose, I'm whacked out of my senses, my eyes feel sore and I feel tired just looking at the mess in our room.
I have to deal with a very hardheaded son (who knows that I can't just spank him and get away with it - but by God, I do feel like giving him some really good spanking) that being like this among other things makes me long for the good old home in RP.
As I think about it, I wanted to go home. Not for me, but for my son. He's growing up not the way I wanted him to be - not that I expect him to be anything - it's just that, I wanted him to grow with the sense of the traditional young Filipino children, the way my generation have grown. But I know it's wishful thinking, THIS IS generation Yand Z, the tradition set to most generation hippies is long gone - or is it?
I know I seem babbling - with me slouched on the bed while I wait for my youngest to wake up and me not feeling too well (but enough to blog), when all I wanted to do is sleep. I just wanted to rant about this or I might rant and nag my frustrations later to anyone who comes my way (particularly hubby and son), and that won't do me good, I'll just pant and get thirsty from talking. Uh-oh. Nope, I don't nag. I talk. There's a difference.
Made me remember the times my mom nags the sound out of my ears (when you hear the nagging and you just seem to not hear anything), and the neighbors go 'Oh well, there's the daily morning concert'. A wonder if the neighbors don't hear anything at all on a daily basis, they would tell me how they would miss it - which were very rare.
So, I talk.
Sometimes a seething talk to the point of beginning a very sounding nag and I stop and say, gosh, this is so tiring. And I talk again.
There are moments when I don't want to impose values anymore because it seems hopeless, then I start imposing them again knowing I am the one that can give that to him, even if we have to do the daily cycle of talks, knowing persistence may be the key and loads of patience (not that I have that much patience or anything - hello PMS).
Ok, now I have to stop these whines of mine - I still have to chase after my running nose - just don't want them dripping on the floor...splat. There you go.
